Tom Kivisto served as president and chief executive in SemGroup till 2008. At that time there were liquidity issues and bankruptcy issues in company. Son of a successful basketball coach Ernie, great personality and extra ordinary talented Tom Kivisto won many trophies and tournaments of basketball. He played for basketball team from 1970 to 1974.
Holding bachelor’s degree in psychology and post graduated in Urban Planning, Tom Kivisto started his life in the world of business. He serves for co-founded Project Single Parent which is a nonprofit organization. Tom Kivisto donated over $15 million to the University of Kansas where he studied. The donation was to finance the building of new football facilities. The Pipe Liners Club of Tulsa awarded him with President’s Award. His name was suggested for the board of trustees of the University of Tulsa.
